Proposal for Special Session Guidelines

Special Sessions will have the same duration as regular technical sessions, namely 100 minutes if one timeslot is required or 200 min if two timeslots are required. If one timeslot is required, one of the two format bellow should be followed. If two time slots are required, the organizers can mix the two formats below (e.g. Part #1: Format #2 for the first timeslot and Part #2: Format #1 for the second timeslot).
  1.  Format #1 : a thematic session addressing a topic of interest spanning multiple SMiRT divisions, consisting of 5 papers; each paper will be allocated 15 minutes for presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions.
  2. Format #2 : a panel discussion, composed of 3 to 5 participants, focusing on a specific topic, with the possibility of structured pro/con exchanges.
For Format #1, presenters are required to provide an abstract for inclusion in the conference program or for advance publication in the electronic version of the program. Each presentation must be accompanied by a full paper.

For Format #2, abstracts are not required. However, the session organizers will prepare a summary report of the discussion, which will be uploaded to the IASMiRT website following the conference.

Each Special Session will include one unique designated organizer (contact person) and one or two facilitators (Chairpersons during the conference).
