The Early Career Program (ECP) aims at shaping the next generation of professionals within the SMiRT community. It provides a dedicated activities for young researchers and engineers to present their work, gain visibility and receive constructive feedback from leading experts in the field. By fostering mentorship and facilitating networking opportunities, the program helps bridge the gap between academic training and real-world application.
Training sessions
The program proposes 5 sessions of training during the conference covering cutting edge issues such as Advanced and Small Modular Reactors, Artificial Intelligence, Structural reliability and performance, Resilience and Risk within the modern nuclear world. Those training sessions consist of 1h30’ presentation/Q&A with an expert from the field. The program offers the possibility to obtain a SMiRT training certificate (a prior registration to the training sessions is needed upon registration for the conference). Material from the training session will be shared with trainees only.
We strongly believe that such initiatives encourage EC networking and fresh perspectives, which are essential for innovation in nuclear structural mechanics. Through training and informal exchanges, the program will strengthen the long-term sustainability and dynamism of the SMiRT community by investing in its future generations.
