AFCEN is an international association bringing together companies involved in the nuclear industry. Its primary mission is to develop and maintain the RCC and RSE Codes, which define rules for the design, construction, and in-service inspection of industrial and experimental nuclear facilities. AFCEN also ensures the availability of certified training programs dedicated to Code users.
Drawing on more than 40 years of experience in nuclear safety requirements, technological developments, and international feedback from users, AFCEN Codes cover a wide range of technical fields, including mechanical engineering, civil engineering, nuclear fuel, electrical systems, instrumentation and control, and fire protection. They provide a common reference framework that can be adapted to national regulations, thereby contributing to the harmonization of practices across the nuclear industry.
